The Folded Presence: Figural Art in East Asian Screens

Works on view span a wide range of literary, historical, and vernacular sources, including Dream of the Red Chamber, The Tale of Genji, courtly scenes, imperial portraiture, Daoist subjects, theatrical compositions, and Japanese narrative and folk imagery.

AMBELIE and Giovannoni Tian Architects (NI-T) present an exhibition of Oriental screens and furniture at Rouyun Space, a century-old Gan-style mansion. Exploring harmony between East and West, past and present, it features Qing-to-20th-century screens and classic furniture, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design to create a serene dialogue between space, art and time.
